I have been working at Avaya full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Some of the best technical minds are involved in churning out some truly innovative products to cater to the dynamic telecommunications industry.

Cons

Senior Management is totally out of depth and have no inkling of market dynamics. They keep demanding absurd targets from the grassroots but have no connect within the marketplace, nor do they have any capability of creating and nurturing executive relationships within the customer and partner community. They only work for their own benefits and compensation and are completely hands-off and autocratic.

Advice to Management

Create executive connect among customers and partner as of yesterday, you are not helping account teams by your current hands-off approach. Also, since you are completely unaware of the market dynamics, come on customer calls with account teams and get a load of this marketplace, and fast.

I worked at Avaya as a contractor

    Pros

Great learning experience and easy access to superiors. Great products that could have a lot of potential in the near future.

    Cons

Unclear objectives for what should be accomplished. Staff is constantly being outsourced so everyone is constantly on edge of being let go.

    Advice to Management

Outsource less people and find ways to cut costs elsewhere.
