Pros

You can set the hours you want to work and can be off work when you need to with no questions asked. It is a pleasant work place with mostly retired people.

Cons

some supervisors flavor the black drivers for special jobs over employees who have seniorty . Mostly because it keeps down trouble. The supervisor is black and I feel he is under pressure to show favor to his peers. Older white shuttlers have asked for trips and have been told there arn't any right now and turn around a get black employees without seniority.

Advice to Management

Be fair to all employees. If you say seniority is important for special jobs then do it and don't bend to pressure for special people just because they are black or white. This is fair and everyone is happy.

    Pros

Avis is a long established company with many great employees who believe in the brand and servicing their customers. Perhaps one of the best known brand names in the world, it immediately commands respect when dealing with customers and clients.

Despite a lack of leadership (not management, the company has many effective managers of costs), a great many of the employees work toward a common goal of excellence.

    Cons

Because of a short sighted focus on increasing immediate shareholder value, rather than longer term picture of customer satisfaction to drive future revenue growth, customer service gets short changed. Too often, good customer focused intiatives never get a chance because of the cost. As a result, competitors continue to increase market share.

    Advice to Management

Focus on customer satisfaction in addition to what today's share price is. Cost cutting will only get you so far toward profitability. You can cut too much, so that your ability to serve your customers is compromised and they go to your competitors.

I worked at Avis Budget Group part-time

    Pros

The Avis management was very flexible and worked around my schedule to help me out.

    Cons

The pay could have been a little bit better, but no other complaints.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes they want to blame how agencies are doing on their employees. When in fact it just may be a slow month for people renting cars in that area.
