    I have been working at BAYADA Home Health Care part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    I've worked with Bayada since September and have loved it! If you're contemplating a side gig to get some more hours, I saw go for it! I work full time in an ICU, and my home health days are always a fun, rewarding change of pace.

    Cons

    Honestly, the only reason I don't transition to Bayada full time is the pay. *BUT* I feel like my work here is significantly easier than my hospital work (one patient that I get to give all my attention to vs. a floor full), so still I feel like I'm well compensated for my time.

    I have been working at BAYADA Home Health Care full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Numerous learning opportunities to expand clinical skills; Ability to treat patients in their own home where the the client is most comfortable; Great that we are able to decrease hospital readmission rates by providing education on chronic illnesses and medication management which is something that RN staff working in acute care do not always have the time to provide; Very rewarding job experience due to the ability to form trusting relationships with clients and follow up with them to ensure proper teach back; Field clinicians and ancillary staff members work together as a team to provide well rounded client care and support to clients as well as their caregivers

    Cons

    Orientation training overall was not always adequate prior to sending nursing staff into the field, especially when it comes to navigating the charting system which was all very new to me. Did not feel confident in training methods due to lack of office staff support at times throughout training period. Certain geographical teams seem to do things differently which hinders proper care to clients and their families which clearly has led to nursing staff quitting and no seasoned clinicians available to take the place of RN Care Manager positions for brief periods of time while continued training took place to ensure new clinicians were comfortable taking over caseload. Felt very rushed into a new position due to lack of available RN staff members. Scheduler extremely nice person overall but seems to also lack training, knowledge of the workload of field clinician when new to company and home health as a whole. Very disorganized methods of new hire orientation and training with all disciplines initially trained as a group but no specific onboarding offered to RN Case Manager individually which did become confusing because each discipline manages their own care but everyone was trained as if we were all PT. Orientation binder with reference material not specific enough to each discipline, RN had to seek out many different office staff members before finally finsing someone who actually knew what they were talking about. Schedule is supposed to be flexible but many times staff is also told hours of availability that we are to offer clients should be between certain daytime hours only. Full time RN staff members also provide numerous services that do not qualify as paid working time such as scheduling client visit times for the folowing day and after visit follow-up telephone calls that can take quite a bit of time from your day. Full-time staff members who have children and/or family members they care for in their own homes tend face difficulty with balancing work life and home life due to the demands of having to constantly deal with clients calling on-call staff who then reaches out to CM to deal with. Does not seem realistic that full time case management staff would actually be able to spend more time with their own family due to added work that amounts to significant amount of unreimbursed time that is completed evening before seeing clients.
