Pros

Great advancement potential for banker level because managers burn out so quickly. There is great training & encouragement for sales success.

Cons

Extreme B of A style sales pressure without the infrastructure. When regional leadership is coming, everyone gets tense and afraid they will be written up.

Advice to Management

Learn what your people are doing rather than cramming down expectations will keep folks from quitting. Your expectations are B of A or Chase level, but don't forget you only have 20 branches in Dallas, not 200.

    Pros

Good Benefits, if you are just out of college the Leadership Development Program is a good path. At least it is a solid, conservative bank that will not be going out of business. Good values as expressed in regular speeches by upper managemen, the 10 core values.

    Cons

Management feels that 0-1% raises are good enough for most employees in almost every year, good or bad. They treat the LDP graduates as if they are made of gold wheras the typical employee is much lower valued. Very little communication on issues that might affect you. Do not live by the "justice" value when it comes to items like annual reviews, typically the grading scale is shifted down where if you perform to your job you are not getting an annual raise.

    Advice to Management

How about looking at theCPI and at least keeping employees close to inflation or even try to get them close to the amount that their benefits are going up.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Excellent medical benefits (subsidies for employees enrolled in wellness program)
    Very enjoyable work atmosphere
Pension and 401K Plan with excellent match
    Flexible work schedule
    Really good work/life balance

    Cons

Low base pay compared to peer banks (arguably offset by other benefits)
    Outdated IT systems
There is not much lateral mobility inside the bank (i.e. retail to commercial)

    Advice to Management

Update loan systems, Non-production jobs should not much smaller bonus potential than line jobs. Many branches and facilities have poor appearance and does not provide good image for bank.
