Pros

- Great colleagues
- Lots of internal opportunities
- Company is growing and makes changes as needed to continue succeeding
- Projects can vary, making work interesting and different each week

Cons

- Some do not like the expectation that employees should put in extra hours to develop proposals for new contracts
- A fast growing company can experience growing pains, such as a greater need for IT support for employees
- Promotion and bonus structure are not defined well enough

Advice to Management

Management does great work overall. Very enjoyable workplace and interesting projects. It would be nice to have a more organized way of showing our work on proposals, as well as a more clearly defined bonus and promotion structure. Nobody really knows what is going on or what to expect.

    Pros

    Benefits: B
    Project Type: C

Overall: This is not a bad place to work if you're looking to get your foot in the door within the energy sector or within Department of Energy, and if you have the expertise needed, there are legitimately cool projects. There's also free chocolate to stress-eat and free Advil for the headaches you'll get working here.

    Cons

    Management: D
    Employee Support: F
    Diversity: D
    Flexibility: D

Overall: Upper-level management is out of touch with lower-level employees. Mid-level management is doing the best they can, but they don't have the leadership or management training (let alone the time) to actually mold you, which leads to a real sink or swim situation. There's no diversity (racial, gender, or ideological) at the top, and limited diversity within the ranks. There's no real option to telework, unless you fill out a permission form for the actual CEO to sign. Get used to a churn and burn of employees; expect to bill 8 hours and work more than 8 hours, and switching projects can be done at the drop of a hat. The company wants to expand, but doesn't have a big-firm culture like Booz or Deloitte to actually make it happen. Contracting companies are a dime a dozen in the area- look for somewhere like Energetics or Booz if you want to have more technical expertise, a higher impact, and more job security.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees through training or brown bag lunches, listen to them, and then show their impact by actually implementing some of their suggestions. As long as every hour is billable, the business development, company culture, and loyalty will continue to suffer or be non-existent.
