I worked at BDS Marketing part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Getting to work with new devices
    - Being able to work by yourself
    - Meeting new people at all the stores you visit

    Cons

    - They do not pay you what you think you're going to get
    - 35 cents a mile doesnt cover anything
    - YOU ARE NEVER OFF EVER; they will call and text 24/7 literally
    - You should magically know when things change when you're out in the field going to stores and they change the entire plan of everything
    - Stores hate that you have to show up so often and you run out of things to teach so it becomes like you're a fly in their store just irritating them because you have to be there for an hour
    - They make up their own mileage, not what you drive on real roads but what you could fly if you had a plane and could just hop store to store ( I went 36 miles but was paid for 16)
    - Communication in a cellular device job is worse then any company I've ever been with
    - Your told your stores will be 50 miles within your town, they aren't and if you dont visit those stores in distant lands you get in trouble, but they aren't going to pay you for it so why go
    - You buy everything you need, Polo, Lanyard, Bis Cards Ect.....
    - Most of the morning team calls your lost in because part time employees aren't told anything and do not get the same resources FT have
    - Terrible Job would never do it again, last week 3 people quit the same day in my hiring group and I'm sure there's more to come
Motorola should rethink who theyre paying to represent their brand.

I have been working at BDS Marketing part-time

    Pros

Good training, enthusiastic and understanding supervisors and the flexibility to work around another part time job.

    Cons

Work is not the same from week to week, which is good, but sometimes there is no work for a week or two. Some of the stores serviced are so far below baseline for the vendor that you can't come close to fulfilling the requirements of the visit.

    Advice to Management

There are a lot of merchandising companies, but whatever you're doing to keep the field supervisors friendly and upbeat, keep doing it!
