No opinion of CEO

Pros

Generous uniforms, lease program is okay, co-workers are great!

Cons

WAY too much conflict with other departments - very hostile environment. Compensation is not the best. Automotive has no future. No managers have a degree or advanced degrees which is very sad considering the product. Very top heavy - at least one salary employee for every hourly employee. Product is not the most innovative considering the 'old' big three have had similar technology for years. A LOT of micro-management from Germany and managers in general. Too many managers and not enough workers. Everyone wants to report problems but no one wants to be part of the solution.

Advice to Management

Stop hiding behind your prestigous brand and start treating people like people instead of dogs!

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

The Employee lease program is generous
Cafeteria offers food of acceptable quality at an affordable price
    Safety is a primary concern

    Cons

Close German oversight does not allow for the "American Way"
Dirty Bathrooms where tours are not taken
    Dangerous place to work
Do not want to invest money into employees
Strict about time (lunches) but generally require salaried employees to work a lot of uncompensated overtime

    Advice to Management

Stop running the plant like it is in Germany, it isn't. The pay and benefits are not competitive, stop hiding behind your prestigious brand and step up to the plate as an employer.

    Pros

Car program is fantastic. Benefits have been great, but have been slashed now.

    Cons

Since many manager positions are slated as German only, these are 3 year contract positions, so a lack of consistency. Every three years there is a new direction, from someone who needs time to adjust to the culture change. The way it's done in Germany doesn't work everywhere. Lack of true innovation, so if you're a trailblazer you're wasting your time.
HR is a trainwreck, which causes repercussions at all levels.

    Advice to Management

Shake up HR & stop rotating management every 3 years.
