I worked at BNY Mellon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy going, simple, very laid back. The management is pretty easy going and they're lenient with a lot of things. Depending on which division you're in, it could prove to be challenging and exciting. It's very much a place to kick back in your twilight years or a first job out of college.
The company does do various things to build the team and you get plenty of vacation time and days off. The people are also easy to get along with.

    Cons

The downside is based solely on your division. Asset servicing, generally speaking, is very easy going and unfortunately, you don't learn a lot beyond the basics or the product you're working on. Even asking for more work will lead to something monotonous that no one ever does. In terms of advancement, you're really limited on mobility outside of the division unless you have a lot of connections. Pay is well below street levels. For an ambitious type, this is definitely not your type of place.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to more pay more in line towards street pay. A formal career path also needs to be defined instead of allowing people to languish. Creating an actual analyst program would really help. They need to weed out the dead weight through a culling and tighten things up.
