No opinion of CEO

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good place to start, good vacation and benefits, can buy time off, a lot of opportunity

Cons

low starting salaries, but they're the only game in town for most fields, favoritism is clearly evident in hiring practices and promotions. VERY slow and unresponsive HR machine. No bonuses for the work horses. Poor performance not handled. Asinine management structure.

Advice to Management

WHY can't you make it make sense? Anything that makes logical sense seems to be ignored.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at BNY Mellon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Highly educated employees with tons of knowledge and a lot to learn from. Compensation is always a plus and on the typical standard for investment banking.

    Cons

Lack of structure in the summer program. Not many other cons, however more rotation with the trading floors or other departments would also be beneficial for continuing the learning experience.

    Advice to Management

I highly advise that the interns are forced to do more projects that get them to interact. It will be a better experience fro everyone.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's slightly better than unemployment, although I question that sometimes.

    Cons

The pay scale is very low...no where near industry average. Most of the employees there are seniors that been with the company so long that when they were hired degrees wasn't mandatory, so they'll pretty much take anything. They can't attract new talent to save their lives. They don't plan on being competitive and retaining employees,bc they can outsource their work to India which is less expensive. Most of their work is going to India as we speak. The Valley Forge/kop office is filled with individuals who would accept anything for working.

The longer you stay the harder it will be to leave.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees and focus on employees retention.
