I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time

Pros

Relatively good benefits, flexible working hours, and most ppl are helpful (but there are also some mean ones).

Cons

no good training b/c supervisors are always too busy and want to go on vacations, low salary with little bonus(personally I am okay with that since this is my first job after college, but I don't know if i wanna stay after 1-2 yrs),hard to get promoted(they also laid off some people in diff departments).

Advice to Management

Raise salary to keep good employees. Invest your people

I worked at BNY Mellon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Theoretically you can work in over 30 countries, although in my experience they preferred to block that because it creates paperwork. It's a big name in the custody bank industry, so it might be a good resume builder.

    Cons

Monotonous work, low pay, weak career advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to employees' aptitude and competencies, not just how many years they have worked there.

  2. "The company - at the time - was very cheap."

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Learned a lot about internal auditing.

    Cons

Company cheap - actually sent out a paper memo to tell employees that they were no longer spending money on post-it notes; you had to contribute $5.00 a month to have drinkable water at their corporate headquarters at One Wall Street otherwise the only other water was from the bathroom sink; senior audit managers would chat all day and then dump their hours onto your audit and make you go over in hours.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being cheap!!!
