Extremely customer, community and employee focused. They provided one of the most comprehensive training and educational services I've ever experienced over my 30 plus year career. Extremely competitive and above most firms regarding compensation regarding there consistent reviews of salaries within the industry and firm.

Cons

There were never any negative or bad experiences during my tenure at BNY Mellon, they're an excellent firm….

Advice to Management

Keep Capital Business and Technology knowledge and assets here in the USA.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Global organization with managers who truly appreciate diversity.
Backbone of economic flow of cash and capital globally.
Emerging focus on empowering and recognizing talent (more), but not there yet.
Professional development opportunities through newly unified training/development organization.
Risk management culture has created one of the "safest banks in the US" (per financial crisis)

    Cons

Even with outstanding performance record over many years, limited advancement.
Anecdotally, many employees feel frustrated by lack of rewards (e.g. pay raises and bonuses), and lack of recognition.
Culture aspires to employee empowerment and "continual improvement", but is hampered by fiefdoms and industrial-era management style.
    Risk management culture stifles creativity
Senior leaders communicate an attractive vision of the future, but struggle to execute and make this tangible to most

    Advice to Management

Figure out how to engage, empower, and unleash the potential of many more employees beyond a select few. Remove the clock-punching deadwood people who simply don't care. Recognize and promote many more existing staff, rather than looking primarily outside for solutions to problems.
