I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time

Pros

As long as you get things done, they are pretty cool with other things. There is not much over time involved. People are friendly and willing to help.

Cons

Management level don't encourage development and growth. They expect you stay there forever and do your work. You can forecast your salary in 10 year because it's increasing rate is flat.

Advice to Management

Upper management should encourage internal transfer and self development.

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    They don't charge for parking

    Cons

Terrible pay, no room for advancement, the cafeteria is lousy, bathrooms have no deoderizers in the old, run down building. Don't expect any type of annual merit based salary increase. Management doesn't care about you at all as a human being. How can I say that? Because we're in the middle of a noreaster blizzard and are stuck here while they get to work from home. That's how. Must be nice. I sure hope I make it home safely. I can't leave for another 3 hours. They say the roads are going to be twice a bad. I'm praying I don't get into an accident. This is the type of company that gives corporations a bad name. It's gotten worse since Gerald Hassell took over. I know, I know. Believe me, I've been looking for another job for awhile now.. The economy stinks.

    Advice to Management

    Have some common human decency

I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A very "sleepy" environment. You can easily get away with coming in at 9:30 and leaving at 5 while taking an extended lunch hour. Not sure if you'd call this a Pro, but it was honestly the only somewhat positive aspect of working there that I could come up with.

    Cons

Low wages, poor company-wide mentality, ineffective and inexperienced management, slow-moving, and VERY few opportunities for career evolution.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers that have experience and understand business.
