I worked at BP full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great work environment and excellent people. Treats it's employees well. Like most oil and gas companies, the salary and benefits are very good.

    Cons

Has a very complex organization and was difficult to get things done quickly. Often times most of the challenge is trying to find the right person to talk to or buy off on something in order to get your work done.

"Good Opportunity but politics and people pleasing can be exhausting."

I have been working at BP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

BP is very active at developing its people. They provided lots of good opportunities. People make the place enjoyable. My team had a great handle on work/life balance, not all teams did.

    Cons

Politics are very important there and everyone in leadership seems to need to give the "ok" before a project can move forward. BP seems paralyzed by past mistakes and their desire for extensive analysis.

    Advice to Management

Trust your people to do the job you hired them for.
