Pros

Good exposure to different projects. Some of the smartest peers.

Cons

Disingenuous manager in my team. Quarterly revenue/profit driven. You'll be thrown under the bus immediately if not playing their little dirty games. No appreciation or encouragement to great achievements. Instead, fear is dominated as the major motivator and back slashes are common among the team.

Advice to Management

We're in the high end consulting business. Treat your employees as your best clients instead of the disposable commodities - it's destructive in the end. Fire the incompetent manager who has no clue of high tech.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    - nice office
    - some nice people
    - the biggest and best financial clients
    - job for life if you know how to play their game.

    Cons

    - you can not feel proud about the end service you are helping to provide, very often

    - constant re-orgs that don't address the things that impact bottom line or customer experience

    - client facing people are leaving at a very rapid pace and they are being replaced by a less experienced full time employee or an outsourced person.

    - Poor systems which are supported out of India

    - Bad processes and procedures

    - there is no real team feel created by senior management and little appreciation expressed for those who work hard to over compensate for the lack of internal support

    - not enough respect for the customer..."easier to keep a client then get a new one" is not something they seem to value.

    - there is a real lack of cooperation between department heads.

    - Finger pointing culture due to poor leadership by men who have spent the bulk of their career at BT.

    - Too much outsourcing which in the end costs them more due to re-works, loss of business and opportunity cost

    - A lack of passion to succeed

    - BTGS management changes directions very often and deliver a confusing message to employees

    - BTGS does not invest in it's people

    - BTGS does not have as an impressive product line when you compare quality and price

    - BTGS tends to make the same mistakes frequently and they don't seem to realize or care

    - Poor morale among staff

    - BTGS' technology lacks innovation and is behind the curve

    Advice to Management

Please treat your clients and staff better by listening to what they have to say. Please take that information and consider when you make decisions that impact these two groups. My opinion is that by treating your clients and staff well you will begin to succeed as a business. Please suppress egos and try to get along with one another so that across the organization a consistent message is delivered to staff so they can work across groups more successfully. Client's see BT...they don't necessarily differentiate between internal BT groups.

Please stop bullying clients but rather partner with these clients to re-gain the respect and trust you lost since purchasing the firms that make up your financial vertical.

    Pros

Before the company was taken over, Infonet was a company where everyone worked closely together, and coworkers almost felt like family (in the good sense of the word). Energetic, and flexible, things were created and people made it work. After the merger with BT, things became more organized, official, structured and additional services became available (more opportunities to sell).

    Cons

After the merger, decision making processes seemed to be slower, more people had to be involved, things seem to take longer to be resolved. However, I believe that this was also due to the fact that the organisations still had to fully merge services and retrain people on the new processes (while also still using the old processes).
