Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Good people - all willing to do the work and most very capable
Good work life balance - lots of work at home and time off

Cons

no pay increases last several years and promotions limited
very risk adverse culture and top down decision making at present though some signs of cahange

Advice to Management

get decision making pushed down the organization and let people do their jobs
provide a detailed vision people can rally around and get excited about

    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

You can hide from real responsibility
Once your hired, its very hard to get fired
They allow you to work from home; which means you can do a minimal job and be considered a high performer

    Cons

You can't survive unless you are constantly marketing your self
If you have initiative, the central product teams with gradually kill it off
No pay raises for merit or performance
Inconsistent benefits packages depending on where your located within the company

    Advice to Management

I can't say fire everyone at the top, because BT leadership is an experience with musical chairs at the top. I would say quit trying to turn the company into EDS, if it was such a great company then where did it go?
