Pros

The pay is decent and the benefits are good. They are flexible with the hours you work. For instance if you need to come in late due to a poor night, then you can without having to get permission. As long as you're working your required hours you can come and go as you please. They reward their employees with pay raises, bonuses, and other small rewards. They make sure to involve employees in decisions that will affect them.

Cons

You have to take a half hour lunch, even if you don't want to. And it's a desk job so you sit a lot.

Advice to Management

I think that they do a good job. They are generous in bonuses and giving back to the employees. They realize that the employees are the ones who give them their bread and butter.

I worked at Backstage Library Works full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The best part is working independently and the quiet atmosphere. Can listen to music with headphones. It's not much, but in the breakroom they provide fruits and vegetables for employees free of charge.

    Cons

The lack of training. They spend the time and effort for the hiring process with their "pre-employment test" to weed out who can pass this ridiculous test, but no time is actually spent for properly training employees. Constantly being tossed around between team leaders doesn't help either. No feedback for new hires on how their performance is. Once asked a question and was told by team leader he had no time to spend showing me how to do something.

    Advice to Management

Take the time out to properly train employees. In the long run spending the time instead of making it seem rushed will benefit the managers and the employees. Also, don't have someone train that only started two weeks before the person they're training because the team leads are overwhelmed with deadlines. This only causes confusion and training isn't conveyed perhaps how it should be to succeed.

I have been working at Backstage Library Works full-time

    Pros

Upper Management (Project Managers) are more open to handling issues.
    Profit Sharing for all employees.
    Flexibility

    Cons

    Communication is non existent.
Two separate departments have two of the most incompetent people working in middle management (Project Coordinators). Both people do not handle stress well, one gets loud the other quiet with a lot of gossip to the other middle managers in front of staff.
The pay could be better, gift card/lunch incentives are ok but raises and/or a yearly cost of living raise or more PTO would be far better.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of Middle Management. Too many managers.
