I worked at Baker Hughes full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Overall, can't complain. Strong set of positive core values.

    Cons

Middle managers continually frustrate their employees; middle managers tell senior, executive management what they want to hear, while regularly telling direct reports the polar opposite. "Quick win", "good news" mentality overshadows need for disciplined, rigorous best practices. Unprofessional, inner circle thinking; if you're not part of the culture club, you are an outsider, whether or not you are a full-time employee.

    Advice to Management

There are no excuses; when reports are made about key areas, the expectation is the team should respond constructively. There is no such thing as "bad news"; it's all good, depending on your perspective, how you choose to respond. Overall, I must say that there are areas in the company that have strayed from their core values. Remember "who" you are; change, performance, does not come from without; it starts from within. Successful outcomes will take care of themselves when you put first things first.
