I worked at Baldor Electric full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

The only pro is that the job is easy as long as you pay attention.

Cons

My college degree and seniority were meaningless. A promotion is impossible unless you are friends with or go to church with management. Pay is low compared to others in the industry.

Advice to Management

Headquarters need to visit plant locations and actually talk with hourly employees. The location I worked at lost a lot of good people and will continue to do so. It's almost as if they're shooting themselves in the foot.

    Pros

Great co-workers, family-like atmosphere. Good benefits. Room for advancement. There are a lot of older senior employees. Great place for a young person to start their career.

    Cons

Salary for engineers is not good. Getting "promoted" sometimes just means you get the privilege of performing two jobs instead of one.

    Advice to Management

    hire more engineers and managers
