I have been working at Banana Republic part-time

Pros

easy tasks, most customers are nice, co workers are nice as well

Cons

Managers expect you to open new credit cards every day even though most people do not want to. Managers pressure the employees too much.

Advice to Management

Promote internally. The people that have been working there longer know the business better than people that are being hired for management from stores like target and sears.

I worked at Banana Republic part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Hired me at 16 and is able to hire at 15 and a half.
Associates were enjoyable to work with.
Schedule is emailed to you - VERY VERY HELPFUL.

    Cons

Was hired and told I would get 40 hours a week, knowing that was a retail lie and just a lure so I would take it over other jobs, I expected at least 20. I worked hard and outperformed other associates and am a pretty enjoyable person to work with, I'm easy to work with, and only got 2 shifts outside of holiday hours. I worked July 4th and Memorial day, besides that they would keep me on the schedule for one 4 hour shift every other week. Literally 2 hours. I would make time and a half (~$12/hr) when I worked very long shifts on the holidays. Everything there is extremely cheap, the budget is very very tight to the point we can't get a new swiffer pad when cleaning and the managers have to lock CLEANING SUPPLIES in their office because they don't want them being wasted. It's very odd.
30% off is a terrible discount when they ask you to not wear any clothes with logos on them.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with the hours you are offering.
