on the job training, flexible schedules, no prior experience necessary, good benefits, paid time off, compensation for job-related activities

Cons

low salary, longer hours than other vet hospitals, have to stay late a lot, can be a very dirty job

    great work environment and the opportunity to learn a ton, hands on from professionals

    Cons

    this is a "chain" of sorts, so there are always ridiculous things coming down the pipe about making sure you say this phrase or ask this question... a little over concerned with hitting financials - again, marks set by corporate. Puts some undue stress on the employees. I get that it's a business TOO but...

    Advice to Management

    look for an increase in numbers / new WP sign ups / etc based on relative info on the pet parents account who visited that day... some unsigned are not candidates for WPs

    Cons

    ~ Field Leadership never talks to associates when they come into hospital.
    ~ Field Leadership cold hearted people. They don't care about or repect associates. They are concerned about increasing revenue, decrease labor and decrease cost of goods. They don't care that we have feelings, opinions and families. They want us all to conform to them, with their miserable lives and work 3 weekends per month, holidays and late evenings.
    ~ Field Leadership is responsible for high turnover rate within our market.
    ~ Overcharging client for services not needed. Implemented a hospitalization charge for leaving your pet for any length of time.
    ~ The annual raise is .25 per hour.
    ~ PDP process is a joke.
    ~ No opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to Management

    I would advise Management to look at the high turnover rate since we recently had a change in field leadership. They don't care about associates. Field Director made comment to Medical Director, "I don't care who is working for us. I know that the lights will come on in the morning". Sadly, I over heard this. We are all disposable in the blink of an eye. I am ashamed to work for this company.
