Pros

BOA is amazing with the flexible work life and work at home programs they offer. The also have all jobs posted online giving you the opportunity to easily post for them. Several recognition programs exisit and each team meeting is started with recognition to team members.

Cons

Demanding and forever changing processes. It seems as soon as they roll out a process they have a change to it.
Recently BOA has cut back on a recognition program that the employees valued due to expense reduction. Benefit offering for health care are very expensive, other employers offer the same package with out the hefty price tag offered by the bank.

Advice to Management

Although changes is a constant we should evaluate our process with the mind set of less complexity in order to deliver to market faster.

    Pros

No license needed to be a personal banker, good place to start from the bottom and work to the top if you have the patience and know the right people.

    Cons

Rather not say too much since everything is being monitored by the company, even online web pages. However, no support of banking licenses in the consumer level brings the value of the sellers down if the bank goes out of business. In addition, the mentality of coaching each other is great if you're coaching your peers, not your superiors. They don't take too kindly in that.

    Advice to Management

Decrease the amount of acquisitions. It hurts to be compared with Chase two weeks ago and now we're compared with Citi. Should we be liquidated before we learn from our mistakes?

    Pros

Bank of America works hard to foster a culture of inclusion, and also a culture where one is encouraged to seek professional growth. Management for the most part does listen to employees. Bank of America also is on the cutting edge of a lot of things, technologically and otherwise.

    Cons

There can be a bit of a Peter Principle in effect, and dealing with other departments can often leave you depressed, and frustrated. Also, the (understandable) obsession with metrics can lead to some bizarre directives, often at cross purposes with what the company is trying to achieve. Sometimes the reasons associates are given for policies seem to be untrue.

    Advice to Management

Look for the reasons behind the numbers.
