I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Higher than average pay, job mobility geographiclly, very easy sales goals

Cons

Terrible support for branch staff, OLD technology, terrible audit proceedures, low pay for branch staff does not allow you to retain high talent.

Advice to Management

Uncap incentive for bankers. Create full time teller positions so that ptt do not leave the company for full time. Make departments work well together, other departments almost seem pissed when you reach out for help.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

the firm is large enough that a technologist has the opportunity to work on many different lanaguages, operating systems and businesses. There is a good work/life balance. Pressure when a project warrants it, but not a constant expectation of late hours and weekends.

    Cons

Bank of America corporate level pushes many processes and procedures down the corporate levels. Much of it more relevant to the retail side of the firm, as opposed to the capital markets groups inherited from the Merill meger.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

CAN be fantastic place, decent benefits - but vastly eroded - great flexibility in work options, such as flextime and remote working, BUT constantly threatened to be taken away...
If they settle down and stop picking apart every good thing left, could keep and strengthen workforce.

    Cons

Constant lack of any stability - even the best of the best can have job eliminated without any rhyme or reason - and change for the sake of change itself takes a toll. Employees have been squeezed so much over the past 5 or so years to keep afloat - would be nice to have some overall. positive growth come from something other than cuts.

    Advice to Management

All focus to outside pressures has created a few internal emperors with no clothes - rather than run large scale, multi year initiatives - take a look at the common sense approaches from across the department heads. We are in your corner, engage us more.
