Pros

Broad range of businesses and geographic locations makes opportunities and lifestyle flexible to the individual. Promotes green building, technology, and work from home programs. Tuition reimbursment

Cons

Climbing the ladder internally is less rewarding. Does not value individual contributions. Company is constantly in change and bad at managing public perception

Advice to Management

Re-engage your workforce and focus on long term vision

    Pros

If you live back east, especially in Charlotte, you can do well.
    Good place for families.

    Cons

Difficult environment for minorities, good if you are white and christian. DIfficult to advance if you are not in Charlotte or maybe New York.

    Advice to Management

Focus on shareholders for a change because most of your employees ARE shareholders, and are miserable. Move headquarters to New York, like a professional bank.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The base salary for teller is significantly higher at Bank of America than at any other bank I've applied to, and the health benefits are good.

    Cons

One of the biggest things that makes Bank of America a dissatisfying company to work for is the atmosphere. People quit to go different banks, often U.S. Bank, regularly and claim that people are much nicer and more employee-centered at other companies. Another problem is that, while it is theoretically possible to get bonuses for things like referrals, almost no banks meet the minimum threshold for receiving bonuses. This is because they fail silly customer service surveys that use a sample size far to small to make them statistically valid. In contrast with this, at many other companies, tellers receive monetary rewards for every successful referral.
