I have been working at Bank of America part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

plenty of room to grow and be promoted

Cons

in the 7 months i've been there 7 people have left the branch for various reasons

Advice to Management

1) stick to schedules changing schedules at the last moment leads to a large loss of employees
2) don't overtax or overburden the employees you already have by not scheduling or hiring enough people to meet customer demand
3) meet regularly with your employees and look to their strengths many employees are not where their strengths are and thats detrimental to themselves and the company as well

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-It's a great way to get licensed up if you are interested in Investment's and want a decent base salary
    -Very flexible day to day
-Great way to get your foot in the door if you're interested in Investment Management

    Cons

-The managers casually mentioned a few times that no one had graduated from the PMD program in 5 years
-Your job is essentially to bring in assets before you leave so the bottom feeding Senior FA's can take them
-Even the successful FA's seemed incredibly miserable
-The managers barely feign concern about any of the PMD's success
-The Senior FA's usually have 1 or 2 support staff to process work and help small clients needs while the PMD's have to learn all compliance side things themselves, file all necessary paperwork, attend daily ''training'' meetings, and somehow manage to gather enough assets to keep their head above water meeting the gradually more and more absurd production hurdles
-Company culture of fear is such that it's every man for himself, no one really cares about you or your success
-If you're client doesn't give you 250k+ in investable assets then they ship the account to Merrill Edge because you don't get paid on small accounts.

    Advice to Management

-Seems like your Ponzi Scheme is working well for the Senior FA's
-It would be nice if PMD's had a chance to grow their business at BOAML
-Maybe change the culture of fear

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun work environment with teammates, it really helps you get through the work day
    Good benefits
    Exceptional time off abilities
Bonus and incentives if you dont make any errors

    Cons

Too many politics that focus on kissing up relationships than those who actually work
Management could be more knowledgeable especially if it pertains to the work they require of you
Parking is insane having to walk miles from the parking deck just to get to the office
Too much micromanaging, coaching every week is not necessary when doing well
Too much focus on sales and numbers but then not rewarded when exceed all goals
Good for short term environment but definitely no more than 6 months

    Advice to Management

Learn to do the job you are requiring of your employees. Higher management do not hire managers who have no direct experience in the job you are hiring them to lead over. Constant coaching and reviews every week is nerve wrecking and not necessary. Maybe if you learned from this the high turnover would be reduced.
