Pros

ability for job growth and promotions
lots of customer interaction training when first starting in Personal Banking positions
ability to move up in company if you can play the game

Cons

high turnover rate
high expectations
not enough positive feedback or encouragement
micromanagement even when you are meeting and exceeding goals
reduced bonuses/incentive without reduced expectations

Advice to Management

Recognize those who have proven themselves, but may not be the loudest. I work in a center where there is another personal banker who is very well known by the market. She has been in the position longer than I have, but I have done as well as or better than she has for the entire year and a half that I have been in the position. There is lots of recognition for the other personal banker. I am always ranked in the top 5 of the market, and frequently ranked in the region. My market team still can't remember my name.

    Pros

They have great benefits and time off opportunities. Trying to make up for the fact that raises and bonuses are scarce.

    Cons

Not much else to offer in the way of raises or bonuses at this time due to the bailout and the economy

    Advice to Management

Management does the best they can with what they have to offer. Bank of America needs to loosen it's purse strings and pass some of the bonuses and high pay of their executives down to the entire company.

  2. "overall a solid place to work. Rapid advancement opportunities in banking centers."

    Pros

If you perform, then their are endless career opportunities to choose from.
    Benefits are good.
Good for your resume if you dont have much experience.

    Cons

The numberof customers growing dissatisfied with the bank is increasing. Increased banking fees and credit card interest rates aren't helping this matter. Customers are not afraid to let u know they hate there own bank.

    Advice to Management

If you want customers to remain satisfied with there bank then try lowering fees instead of increasing them. Credit Unions are becoming a popular trend bc fees and rates are minimal. Bank of America prob loses many customers to cheaper rivals. Banking fees are freaking ridiculous, 7 dollars for a cashiers check, now thats crazy.
