I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The Business Bank is part of global commercial banking, a great team of experienced credit and treasury management Executives. The risk manager for the whole west business bank is very business pro and makes business easy to do. Commercial bank is also a very cohesive team of credit products, treasury and client management team. Very close and tied team. The Bank's Private bank, commonly called US Trust, is a different culture, disconnected fro bank's culture and very focused on individual adviser's needs and not a team oriented group. Management of this team is very distanced from organization's objectives with desire to keep their separate identity. Overall, an organization that has plenty of resources and if hard work and long hours is not prohibitive, it's a good place to work. As for compensation, they're not the greatest payer but not the worst. Sales teams are paid geney with bonus and incentive plans that are easy to ahieve given bank's footprint.

    Cons

Long hours, too much work and hard to balance life and work

    Advice to Management

Take care of people who show the enthusiasm and willingness to go beyond their duty. Bring visibility to associates with potential.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Plenty opportunity to advance and change positions as long as you are willing to work hard and can adapt to change (always change at BAC)

    Cons

Institution is often too large and difficult to get things done across different lines of business. This is often a huge competitive disadvantage when in client facing roles.

    Advice to Management

instill a culture of connecting different lines of business from a service prospective rather than a (purely) sales perspective.
