I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Promoted on job performance and the pay is excellent along with great benefits.

Cons

Only sad that I could not continue my employment with BOA but understand the downsizing of the company.

Advice to Management

No advice for management. Just the banking industry is not that stable at this time in the home retention or mortgage departments at this time. That is why I would not recommend to a friend at this time.

    Pros

Back then, there were some very smart quant teams in Merrill Lynch - which means you get to learn a lot in a short time and get to contribute to the bottomline immediately. Banks in general are very fast changing organizations, so you also learn quite a bit of organizational psychology.

    Cons

I had a very good time there, so do not have much to add in the cons section. The chaos of 2008 took a toll on some of the groups there, but overall, I think it went well for most people where they stayed or left after Stan O Neal's departure.
