I worked at Bank of America full-time

Pros

If you work really hard you get rewarded

Cons

A lot of favoritism within the company, you have to know the right people to get promoted.

Advice to Management

Bank of America has lost the sense of valuing their associates, the programs are there but people do not use it properly. Valuing an associate is more than just posting a story of what an associate did to please a customer or exceed sales goals.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good company, strong future. If you perform well you have strong job security. Good benefits. Get your experience in the role for a year then move on. If they won't promote you then actively seek a new postion.

    Cons

You are measured on everything. The postion is a sales based role so you need to pull in production to continue make your numbers. If there is a slow traffic day thats no excuse for low sales. There will be reports that will show you that 400 customers visited a banking center in a day and X have no credit card and Y have a competitor mortgage and you get the back lash as you didnt sell them a product. Even if you never spoke to them! Doesn't matter if they have poor credit or a better interest rate the report will always win. Almost every customer comes in and needs a transaction taken care of within minutes. Good potential sales don't wait. The low income person with poor spending habits will wait an hour to see you to shout at you for them going into their overdraft. This is your typical customer.

    Advice to Management

The new goals are ridculous. They were difficult enough last year now you expect us to get every customer fully loaded even though 95% of customers don't have enough finances. It seems that your really looking for a new way to avoid paying us a bonus. Reports should only be considered as a guideline as they don't acknowledge demographic analysis.
