I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Diverse working environment, very community & family oriented. All branches have differenet processes for doing things but it all is based off of a few core fundamentals so it is easy to transfer to another center.

Cons

Although most employees do recieve a raise every year it is miniscule to the amount of profit boa makes. The scoring of referrals and comission is flawed so it is next to impossible for most to meet these goals to get extra money. Bank of America also has a bad reputaion and even though in the past few years it has been fighting hard to regain customer trust and respect it still has a long way to go. Tellers are the "face" of bank of america but dont make enough money to live off of.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Solid company, good benefits, can get good experience, particularly as a young person.

    Cons

Reorganizations and realignments are almost constant, leading to frequent changes in senior managers and their teams, as new managers want to appoint new leadership teams to demonstrate change. Actions do not always follow the company's stated values. HR is focused much more on supporting the will of managers than on doing the right thing for employees.

    Advice to Management

Increased regulation has led to too much focus on risk management and control, making decision times and process too slow. If this trend continues, the company will have difficulty capturing business opportunities.
