I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Good benefits and they did good volunteer work.

Cons

Glorified sales position. They preach "work, life, balance" but only care about your sales and constantly are harping on you to "keep your numbers up". I constantly wrote action plans and was on conference calls that were a waste of time and nothing more than "pep rallys".I also worked many Saturdays after being promised that i would only have to do "one or two a month". Also, I went through 5 managers in the 16 months that I was there. Probably because no one wanted to manage the market I was in since the goals were far too unrealistic.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, great 401K with matching funds!

    Cons

Too many org changes. Changing every 6 to 9 to 12 months does not give management enough time to make meaningful changes that could turn a department or line of business around. Additionally, there have been a lot of layoffs this year which had people on edge and worried about coming to work on Wednesdays as all the layoffs occur on Wednesday. Some are even calling Wednesday: WOW - meaning Walk Out Wednesday.

    Advice to Management

Stop the bleeding - quit changing orgs so quickly; cut down on travel and all the perks that go with that. I've seen a lot of money going out to door due to excessive travel expenses like using a Black Car service to take you to and from the airport and spending hundreds of dollars on dinners out in the evenings. It's crazy!
