I worked at Bankers Life as a contractor

    Pros

They have a very good products to sell and They stress personal service to clients. They do a good job training you and they provide professional looking materials for you.

    Cons

No advertising, no lower price range products for people who can't afford the best. The leads they give you are the worst. They are old and recycled. Poor agent management AND when you leave they rewrite your policies and try to make you pay the chargeback.

    Advice to Management

Get better leads. Support your agents and don't play favorites. Don't let agents rewrite policies when someone leaves. The most successful agents in my office all got appts from a group who had bought up all the open leads and gave them to agents who split with them. They didn't make a lot of their own calls. Be honest with new agents.

I worked at Bankers Life as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Provide great training tools. Have to be in office every other day, so make sure you live near by and have funds to support your gas and tolls. ******READ ALL PAPERS CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING, NO MATTER HOW HARD THEY PUSH YOU TO HURRY******READ THEM!

    Cons

Leads provided have been called numerous times and most leads do not qualify for insurance. This is commission only. **Very important** They give advance commissions on sales, HOWEVER, if you should leave them , THEY WILL MAKE YOU PAY IT BACK! It costs a lot on gas and there is a TON of competition out there. Make sure you have money for 6 mos. to a year before starting something like this.

    Advice to Management

Work equally with all of the agents, don't pick out your favorites. Advise all agents at the beginning they will need a lap top. Also, be HONEST with all of those papers you very quickly rush to sign at the very beginning when your head is still spinning from taking the tests.
