I worked at Bankers Life full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Great training. It was some of the best training I've ever had. The branch manager really cares about the agents.

Cons

Cold calling. If you're not good at cold calling, you better get good at knocking on people's doors. There are no benefits or salary. Bonuses are very hard to get.

I have been working at Bankers Life full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    work at your own schedule

    Cons

your practically a telemarketer cold calling for hrs on end with leads that senior agents get to sift through first in hopes of making appointments throughout your city and residing county's to which you must drive your own vehicle to. when you actually manage to make a sale its usually split between agents or a team lead and if a customer cancels or lapses a policy it comes out of your pocket company holds no liability. if you don't have a substantial amount of savings to cover your bills and personal expenses for about 6-8 months or a very reliable car i would not recommend this job there is no salary this is commission only

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Bankers Life full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible hours
"Unlimited salary", as they love to remind you
    - At least they try to train you first

    Cons

    - No base salary (100% commission)
    - Low office morale
    - Terrible leads
    - Management that doesn't know how to manage
    - They go on and on about how flexible this job is, but if you're not willing to work every evening and come in on Saturdays to make calls you find yourself being judged for it.

    Advice to Management

Please understand that when your "employees" (not that you're paying them) are frustrated with an extraordinarily stressful job, the proper response is not to gather them all in a room and scream at them about how they don't appreciate the opportunity the company has given them. And stop giving out the same exact leads to multiple people in the office. It's not "diversifying", it's borderline harassment; if I was a prospect getting multiple calls a day I'd be mad too.
