I have been working at Barclays full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great research - name recognition...that's about it. It's very difficult to think of any other pros, honestly. People seem to be defecting left & right.

    Cons

cut-throat culture; local Managing Director has a poor reputation in the industry and creates a challenging & hostile work environment; rather than fostering a team environment, mentorship and advocacy among subordinates and across business lines. It's a real morale killer. Sr. Mngmt pushes reps to sell proprietary structured products & ETNs, even if not suitable.

    Advice to Management

don't hire people without proper due diligence to avoid bringing on-board another Firm's "throw-away"

I worked at Barclays full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Rotational program will allow you to see different parts of the bank and gain expertise in various areas of compliance--a large benefit when starting a career in a new area.

    Cons

You can get stuck in a bad rotation and spend a year doing something that does not aid your career goals. Inconsistant supervision of program and little consistancy in experience.

    Advice to Management

Ensure the teams grads work in actually need them/provide a plan of how they will be used and what they will learn.
