I have been working at Bard full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Bard has some great people to work with. Very eager to help you learn when you don't understand something and there is definitely room for growth within Bard if you willing to work hard. The directors and below are great, the same can't be said for higher management.

Cons

By in large Human Resources is severely lacking. They are not there to help and only slow progression. When asked for help or a favor do not expect anything. Other Bard facilities, including corporate, have many basic amenities such work out facility and cafeteria; however Bard Peripheral Vascular has nothing of the sort.

Work/ life balance is poor. In order to achieve carrer opportunities work will supersede life.

Advice to Management

Create a better work/ life balance as every program seems to be running extremely lean. Need makeover of human resources.

    Pros

Good people at the manufacturing floor level (i.e., operators) with a strong desire to provide ideas, be considered, appreciated and respected as human beings with a unique idiosyncrasy (puertorricans).

    Cons

Change in "Senior" Management a couple of years ago created a chaos in the organization, dislocating every aspect of its culture. Thus, a tense, unknown, dubious work environment exists. Elitist senior management with an over-grown sense of superiority provokes continuous discomfort among professionals (i.e., engineers, buyers, QA people, etc.).

    Advice to Management

My advice goes to Corporate Management whom shall take a close look at the high turnover and the reasons why the company has such a bad reputation in the island. An apparent good future lies ahead but very serious changes need to happen in the "Directors" level for this future to be not only possible but an enjoyable journey for every employee.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    1. Good Salary

    2. Good Benefits

    3. Growing Company on the East side of the Island

    4. Management is bringing new product every time. So, you will always have something to do.

    Cons

    1. Management is Elitist and prefer politics over performance.

    2. Serious flaws on the performance review process

    3. Prefer bringing outsiders to a Supervisory role rather than promoting the in-house talent within the organization.

    Advice to Management

    1. Stop bringing outsiders and promote in-house talent

    2. Employee Morale gets seriously affected when no promotions are given to 10+ year exp. employees.

    3. Serious Improvements should be made on the entire HR policy/department.

    4. Happy people = More production and better results. Treating employees like slaves = The high turnover that you have as of Today
