No opinion of CEO

Pros

Primarily the books and the environment of a bookstore. It was nice and quiet and the workload was light -- nothing too difficult.

Cons

Management was the worst I have ever seen. Everything was extremely hyped and petty. Micro-managing was the rule of the day.

Advice to Management

Get a grip on the environment and make the place a more comfortable place to work. Stop treating your employees like little children.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    -dedicated long-term staff
-great customers who ask intelligent questions

    Cons

The physical book business is dying a quick and painful death. Every ereader sold in one of our stores is one more nail in the coffin. Some of my stores are down 25% in sales to LY because customers buying the ereader and cutting their store visits by half. Upper management expects the stores to sell ereaders AND function as a cheap imitation of Apple's Genius Bar....but no extra payroll is given for troubleshooting, only for selling. Layoff are accelerating at all levels of the company. But to keep Wall Street from panicking we're laying off small groups.
    My advice: stay away!
