    Pros

While working at Barnes & Noble is classified as retail work, a position as a Bookseller goes far beyond what you think of as traditional retail. We have a lot of autonomy as we move through the store and you will find yourself doing many jobs throughout your workday. Whether it be customer service in stores, answering phones, shipping online orders, shelving, "zoning", cashier, and offering book expertise. An upbeat personality and a good attitude at work will serve you well.

    Cons

Be prepared to get your steps in as these stores can be quite big and you will almost certainly be on your feet the entire day. While many customers are lovely, it is retail, and there will be some people who have little respect for you and the work you do. Many are quick to jump to Amazon and will tell you to your face. But most customers are very nice, patient, and book lovers themselves!
