Pros

Great 401k and work life balance. Good opportunity to learn and take ownership of projects and run with them.

Cons

Poor culture; legacy employees blame big company for all of the business problems.

Advice to Management

Need to comb through some of the legacy employees and transition certain people into more productive roles.

I have been working at Bayer full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are the upsides that come from working for Big Pharma. Bayer has a very Good Training program - Reps are armed with skills to do the job. Bayer marketing department is very good. Reps get very good sales tools, and marketing responds to needs voiced by the field. As a rep, the benefits are standard - car, insurance, 401K. These are great. Bayer hires - most of the time - good people - peers are supportive.

    Cons

Layoffs, lately, seem to come more frequently. Very sad.

    Advice to Management

    None.

I have been working at Bayer full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity to develop a diverse career path.
    Mobility between other Bayer companies.
Stable and conservative, not prone to market fluctuations.

    Cons

Doesn't take a very progressive approach to alternate 'work-life" solutions such as on-site day care and work-at-home.
    Decisions are made slowly.
    Upward career mobility is slow.

    Advice to Management

    Focus more on talent retention.
Listen to all employees, not just managers' opinions.
Embrace "work-from-home" solutions uniformly, not just in certain parts of the organization.
