I worked at Baylor Scott & White Health full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Compensation very competitive, committed to high quality care across the health care system from the Board down to staff providers.

Cons

Somewhat political environment. Strategic plan could be more clearly communicated throughout system.

Advice to Management

Better communication regarding overall system strategy and goals that can be applied to all levels of employees.

I have been working at Baylor Scott & White Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the best people and nurses I have every worked with are at Baylor. Benefits were adequate. Pay was fair enough. I might recommend Baylor as a typical hospital employer but would not recommend working for this particular manager.

    Cons

One of the worst managers I have ever worked under in 30 years of nursing ran my department.
Extremely high turnover in the last 3 years.
Very difficult to get time off.
Extreme levels of favoritism within the department.
    Very poor orientation
Transfers to other departments or facilities within the system routinely denied because the manager controls release.
Lack of teamwork and very low job satisfaction.

    Advice to Management

Please keep a closer eye on your middle management and keep them accountable.
