I have been working at Baylor Scott & White Health part-time

Pros

They really do care about health and wellness. They try to cater to the whole individual as well as being resources for the family.

Cons

They like to keep you where you are. If you were to find another job within the system, make sure you are on top of your manager to release you so that you can work at the other job.

Advice to Management

Please release your employees when they want to work at other Baylor facilities. It's not that they don't want to work at your particular facility anymore, but maybe they need supplemental income and the only way they're going to get that is if they get a second job.

I have been working at Baylor Scott & White Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team work on my unit, there is a real since of a family. Stressful work, but the RN's that you work with make it worth the stress

    Cons

Staff nurses are retaliated against if they are asked to share opinions and their responses are not what management wants to hear. The pay is not competitive and the raises/market raises are sub par

    Advice to Management

Respect and trust are earned, not given out freely. If you want respect from staffers and loyalty, then you must give your respect as well.

I have been working at Baylor Scott & White Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Employees are treated with respect and given the oppurtunity for self development. There is a high emphasis for a pay for performance culture that weighs heavily on individual behaviors.

    Cons

Change doesn't always happen as fast as one would like. Because of the size, there are pockets of people resistant to change. Companies these days need to stay leading edge in all areas.

    Advice to Management

Be mindful of who are being placed on leadership positions. These employees should be held to a higher level of behaviors then their previous non-leadership behaviors.
