I worked at Baylor Scott & White Health full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Location, family oriented, ability to move around within the organization. Has some very good people scattered throughout the organization. Has potential to become great

Cons

Low pay, HR not helpful, recruitment not proactive, stuck in the "this is how we have always done it" mentality. Requires Director or above to get other teams to contribute, poor benefits package, lack of innovation, culture beats go-getters into submission or drives them out.

Advice to Management

Make staff/mgmt accountable, stop the excuses, empower others, stop the "this is how we have always done it". Turn the tide to become PROACTIVE, Accountable, and LEAD.

I worked at Baylor Scott & White Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are no pros to working at the West Campus, Revenue Cycle Operations department.

    Cons

Employees have no voice due to management retaliation if you do speak up. Very long hours, overtime mandatory. Employee morale is very negative, EMS has been called at least 6 times recently to take employees to the ER for stress related issues. Numerous people filed complaints over my period of employment, some were told if you don't like it, you don't have to work here, others were targeted and let go. Very much a "sweat shop" atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting people to supervisor, manager, director that have no experience and or knowledge of the departments they are over. No effort is made to learn the job functions on their behalf but yet they are making decisions on goals and quotas. In case you haven't noticed, it doesn't work very well.

I have been working at Baylor Scott & White Health part-time

    Pros

They really do care about health and wellness. They try to cater to the whole individual as well as being resources for the family.

    Cons

They like to keep you where you are. If you were to find another job within the system, make sure you are on top of your manager to release you so that you can work at the other job.

    Advice to Management

Please release your employees when they want to work at other Baylor facilities. It's not that they don't want to work at your particular facility anymore, but maybe they need supplemental income and the only way they're going to get that is if they get a second job.
