I have been working at Baylor Scott & White Health full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Many satellite facilities to move around.
Work for a Law Enforcement Agency.

Cons

Complacency very noticeable among coworkers.
Not much personal growth potential and also no company ladder to advance.
Department is non revenue generating, always first to make budget cuts.

Advice to Management

Need to move to a bottom up approach to running department.
Top down management is not working.

I worked at Baylor Scott & White Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

None, except I love patient care.

    Cons

Poor mid management. They seem to work un-monitored. As long as budget goals are met, no concern is given to how the staff is treated. Which seems to go against the "Servant Leader" class all management is required to attend. Merit raises are competitive, with only the top 5% of the entire system getting a raise. Which means if my team has 3 employees and the Temple office has 20, no one from my team is considered. Also the local management is allowed to bully and force out employees.

    Advice to Management

A large rapid growing system is great. But make sure you are taking care of the staff who takes care of your patients.
