I worked at Beacon College full-time

Pros

Time off, interaction with people. Trying to get students to stay in the school.

Cons

Elitist dictatorship that favored their own friends and family.
Didn't care enough about the type of students coming in.
Students who had been there since before they were accredited still there to bring down students who come in and those who can succeed.
Not enough for students to do while on downtime.
Reviews are a joke since the president did not even witness the work being done.

Advice to Management

Stop kicking out people for nepotism and friends that are not qualified.

I have been working at Beacon College full-time

    Pros

Small college so you don't have to deal with all the bureaucracy of a larger one. Very flexible too and accommodating. The President is wonderful.

    Cons

Pay is not that great. No tenure system for faculty and heavy teaching load (5-5-1).

I worked at Beacon College full-time

    Pros

The mission is fantastic and it is something very needed in the world. Most of the teachers and learning specialists want to do their best for students but they do not get enough support from administration in any way.

    Cons

The administration says one thing and then goes another direction constantly. It has a strategic plan, but don't believe it. The focus is very much on expansion and bringing in money, rather than really serving the students well. In trying to expand quickly they are bringing in students that are not appropriate for the environment, thus making everything difficult for current students and teachers/learning specialists.

    Advice to Management

Be honest. Don't lie to incoming families about class sizes and how much time/support they can expect from staff.
