I have been working at Beacon Health Strategies full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Great downtown Boston location, casual and pleasant work environment, good compensation. There's good comraderie among staff, just not with management and staff.

Cons

As everyone has says, it's the poor management, excessive micro management, blame culture and poor training. The first thing they do when anything goes wrong, they want to have a name before they want to fix the problem. This creates a very toxic environment encouraging people not to take risk and improve things but play it safe and keeps under the radar.

Advice to Management

Desperately needs a top level major overhaul but instituting a strong supportive training program would go along way.

I worked at Beacon Health Strategies as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of work to do building Websites out for Health Care Clients. Utilizing SQL and ASP.NET, C#.

    Cons

Micro management and disgruntled employees. Poor communication via management and lack of support makes it unpleasant. Hiring process should have indicated this company is not professional. When I first arrived, current employees warned me the seat I was sitting in was like a revolving door. Be very careful and watch your back working for these people.

    Advice to Management

Keep the work from home policy as it is your only saving grace.

I worked at Beacon Health Strategies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are friendly, coffee is free, lot's to learn

    Cons

finger-pointing, quick to blame -not to resolve, rules and regulations are not enforced equally for all, very little training but very little tolerance for mistakes, communication is lacking among staff and there is little oversight, no clear hierarchy in the company that allows for employees to move up

    Advice to Management

Look at faults in training and processes before you pick on the employees who are just trying do to the best they can with what they were given, treat everyone equally and with respect
