    Pros

I have been astounded by the reception I have received as a new hire. Everyone has been great and I look forward to going to work each and every day!

    Cons

There is always room for improvement. It seems that has been realized here as we work on improvement events monthly.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the informational sessions. It is so nice to be so well thought of as a new employee.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Beaver Dam Community Hospitals (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-It's a large employer so it is able to offer nice benefits like health, dental, HSA, FSA, 401K, and it offers a discount on health insurance through its wellness program.
-There are some really nice people who work within the organization.
-You'll receive a nice pay grade because they know people will come into the organization, get used to that rate of pay and then it will be hard for employees to leave the money to escape the unpleasant work environment.

    Cons

-No one (not even other chief officers) has the power to make a decision without consulting the CEO. You sit in project meetings with chief officers and they won't authorize you to move forward on tasks until they can ask the CEO first. The chief officer will then go ask the CEO for approval or direction and then another meeting is called. (WASTE OF TIME & RESOURCES!)
-There is an overall lack of accountability within the organization. You can assign someone or project, ask for help or send someone an email and you'll hear crickets. Part of this is culture and part of this is due to work overload. If you choose to work here, be prepared to constantly feel like a failure!
-Some departments (benefits in HR is the worst) don't find it necessary to respond to emails or follow up on requests.
-The CEO is driving the organization into the ground with her unrealistic expectations, treatment of employees and narcisstic behavior.
-Physicians turn over just as fast as the balance of employees do. Both make it impossible to implement change and improve the organization.
-You'll never be complimented on the work you do that goes above and beyond your job description but if you miss one minor thing be prepared to pay for it for the balance of your employment with the organization.
-The CEO leads by manipulation and fear. She treats you like a friend until she gets what she wants from you. Do not waste your time, skill set or ambitions working here.
-The recruiter makes you feel like you're winning the lottery by receiving an offer. Believe me and the other reviews on Glassdoor, you are not.

    Advice to Management

Fire the CEO. Or figure out how to enable Directors and Managers to work around her without her wrath. You will continue to lose qualified people at the physician, medical team, leadership and staff levels until this issue is addressed.
