    Pros

Many smart people and a collaborative environment.

    Cons

Micromanagement culture is worsened by insecure, self-serving directors and VPs. More time spent on internal-facing efforts (e.g., designing and producing status reports) than on customer-focused work.

    Advice to Management

Go ahead and remain self-serving, but stop hiding busy work behind the DBS label. DBS is great, but use it with purpose. You'll get more out of empowering your subject matter experts to focus on customer-focused work rather than on internally-focused reports.

I have been working at Beckman Coulter full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Early years before 1980 were very productive as the company was science based and science driven. Then the MBA and accountant mentality took over with cost reduction, labor time studies and six sigma approaches.

    Cons

Individual contributors are no longer valued. Group think, or more properly group grope, are very much in vogue. Management tries to schedule breakthroughs.

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees.
