I have been working at Become.com full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

People and Environment are great, lots of food and activities, highly value fit with the company. Buddy System to get new team members up to speed.

Cons

As with any start-up, people wear different hats and organizational structure can be confusing. With recent new executives joining, this is being addressed, but all change takes time, looking forward to things to come.

Advice to Management

Looking forward to improvements in organizational structure. Wish we can hire people faster to fill key positions.

I have been working at Become.com full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Become.com is a fun environment to work in. The people are really nice, there's free food, nice perks, and great benefits. The company has regular outings to the movies and picnics, and the overall atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed.

    Cons

The company is lacking in leadership in several departments, with a number of recent departures. The high turnover rate among executives and upper management is troubling. The new executive team is sluggish at making decisions, has poor communication, and micro-manages decisions that should be best left to those who know better. There is more bureaucracy than there has been in the past.

Also, the company's business model (comparison shopping) is not sustainable. Short term company outlook is positive, but the company will need to pivot in the near term if it wishes to remain relevant in the future.

    Advice to Management

Stop getting in the way of your employees, and focus on working on a new business model.
