I worked at Beechcraft full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Fellow workers were real nice and pleasent to work with. Processess and procedures better than most in the industry. Great since of pride within the company.

Cons

The union has made labor force within Beechcraft over priced and lazy, and failed to be a factor in preventing work from going out of the country. Engineering and technical support departments are understaffed and overworked. Sourcing core engineering to india was not what Beechcraft expected. Actually turned out to be cheaper and faster turn around in house.

Advice to Management

Concentrate on improving the development and manufacturing of the product lines. Middle management is too fat, lower management is too thin and over worked, try and reach a balance.

I worked at Beechcraft full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    not many pros working here.

    Cons

Underpaid in our area of the country, Management wouldn't listen to the employees ideas. The facility mangers they hired were not qualified for the job, always under bid the time required to do the jobs, then got upset at the employees when we couldn't meet their schedule.

I worked at Beechcraft as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

An extremely focused aerospace parts warehousing company with a clear vision for providing logistics services for Beechcraft. Overtime not expected but encouraged. I usually worked more hours than the managers on a weekly basis. There are perks but no benefits. Friendly people but definitely an adult version of high school-like cliques and inner circles among employees. Favoritism shown by management to wayward employees are very much resented by employees with perfect records. And this causes unnecessary friction and a high turnover rate among good employees with better skills, more consistent employment backgrounds, crime free backgrounds, and a college education.

    Cons

The majoritiy of the management are ex military and some are ex criminals given a second chance by way of military service. Therefore, their way or the highway. This is not a company that thrives on the positive aspects of being a good and dependable employee. This is a company that saved Beechcraft millions while relying on a group of dedicated (and/or temp services) employees to carry the load for ten bucks an hour...forever. No chance of a raise or any advancement. They were an interim solution to a major aerospace company's legal and financial problems. No future for employees or company.

    Advice to Management

None: they never listen to issues most ten year olds would acknowledge and fix.
