As a consultant, you're brought on to help a variety of clients solve complex problems which is very rewarding. It's hard to be "stuck" in a job you don't like doing for a long time as there are fresh challenges coming in every day and the management team is committed to ensuring each employee enjoys what they do. Belcan is very proactive about work/life balance. There is no being "volun-told" to come in on the weekend and all overtime is paid. You can set the hours you want to work yourself so long as the customer's needs are met and you're not missing any critical meetings.
Cons
It can be a bit of a balancing act juggling multiple projects and customers but I've found the management team to be helpful with setting expectations and limiting the number of "hats" I wear. It can be a little unnerving having your pay tied to contracts that can last from 3 months to a year but the commercial managers do a good job of keeping the pipeline full of work and you can focus on your work instead of trying to drum up new business.
