    Pros

All of the workers are always great. Easy going, always willing to give a helping hand. Most of the people have over 10+ years with the company. A lot of experience and people willing to share it.

Good Benefits package. It is comparable with everyone. The pay could be better considering the locations.

    Very low turnover in associates.

    Cons

Good old boy networking at its best. The management located within the services division are all old buddies from the North East of USA. It is very difficult to change or suggest changing the way things are done. The customer comes first, but only if at last resort or "How much is it going to cost?"

This is one of 1st companies I ever have dealt with that does not keep track of project over-run or how much a decision from upper-management will actually impact them long term.

    Advice to Management

You need to clean house and get fresh eyes and ideas. When your managment is from within the industry and your competetion has more people in your own organization it is time to change the way they manage the talent and where they get it from.

You sit in the middle of a high-tech gold mind of talent, but rarely recruit from the area.

When was the last time you actually made money on a sale after you installed a product? You might considering what the cost of doing business is really going to cost you before giving away the house during a sale.

I have been working at Bell and Howell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of freedom and minimal supervision.
Amazing work/life balance since there are no deadlines for anything..ever.

    Cons

Directionless management has created a company that stands for nothing and can't articulate a coherent direction. All over the place with no focus.

No money to invest in the following: raises (tiny and sparse - given out every couple years like an act of pity), bonuses (almost 10 years now since the last one), 401K matching, health and safety concerns of your work environment (hey that costs money!), fixing/replacing failing equipment required to run a successful department.
Oh and they can always find an excuse to not hire people to replace those who leave. No one is ever replaced in my office. Yet I attend financial calls that says our office makes money and meets numbers.
No reason to put extra effort in to anything, since the pool for raises is tiny, reviews literally mean nothing, and to get a small piece of the "bonus" pie you have to compete against the entire company for it. And you get a chance at that only if someone else notices enough to even bother nominating you.

    Advice to Management

Hope. All people want is hope. It's essential to existing in life. Hope abandoned this place long ago. Treat people like they are people. We're not just "associates".
