Pros

Learned new technology, products and services offered. Fast growth opportunity, I was promoted and given a raise within the first 3 months of being employed.

Cons

Co-workers aren't micromanged enough, therefore their work ethic isn't up to standard most of the time. For some reason, alot of inside theft went on in the store.

Advice to Management

Train co-workers how to be motivated and inspired to work for Best Buy and maybe they won't steal as much or at all.

    Pros

great employee discounts. working with others both co-workers,and customers, managment spoke in a profesional manner, selling of product that you know will help others lives.

    Cons

as an individual you have no say. You do what managment wants there is no middle ground. as far as understanding product i was told just read the tag under the product describing the product. there was no teaching of the actual product

    Advice to Management

Ask employees about there input on a decision you make. happy employees are the best employees because they will work harder and better when satisfied.

    Pros

Better pay than most retail jobs, good benefits package for full-time employees, great discount on both products and services, if you are on a manager's good side it can be fun

    Cons

Very little training, leadership quality of managers varies greatly, limited recognition, not as many options for career advancement as there used to be, double standards for the people that managers like the most

    Advice to Management

Managers have ridiculously high expectations for hourly employees yet most managers (at least at the ones at my location) were not able to explain how to achieve them or why they were important. Training and development is next to non-existent (once again, this may be limited to my location). More often than not, I was more informed on company policies than my sales managers were. There was very little consistency on how various policies were enforced. If you are on a manager's good side, you can get away with the same offenses that other employees are documented/written up for. Communication is troubled to say the least, often times a manager will say one thing only to contradict themselves a few moments later.
